160 Eye patients screened at free eye camp

Rotary Club of Port Blair in association with Rohin's Eye Hospital conducted a Free Eye Camp last Saturday, for the benefit of the general public. Rtn. Dr. Mohan Rajan and Dr. Ravishankar from Rajan Eye Care Centre, Chennai, conducted the camp. Altogether 160 patients, were screened at the Camp and free medicines provided to them. Rtn. G. Dhinakaran, President, Rotary Club of Port Blair, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rohinder Lall and all his staff at Rohin's Eye Hospital, for all the support provided by them for the successful conduct of the Eye Camp. Dr. Mohan Rajan has assured his support to provide additional facilities at Rohin's Eye Hospital for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and certain types of laser treatment, for which patients are now forced to go to mainland, a communication said here.
On the same day at 7.30 pm, a CME programme was also conducted at Hotel TSG Emerald View for the doctors on the subject 'Recent Advances in Ophthalmology' by Dr. Mohan Rajan. About 30 doctors from G.B. Pant Hospital, INHS Dhanvantary and private practitioners and members of Island Medical Association attended the programme. Through a power point presentation, Dr. Mohan^Rajan explained the technical advances in the field of ophthalmology and options available for the treatment of various eye disorders.
